Our patented r-CVI process makes it possible to obtain the desired products within a very short time. It is currently the fastest method worldwide of manufacturing products using the CVI process. This has a correspondingly positive effect on costs, both for prototypes and in mass production.
High performance products require consistent compaction in order to deliver the necessary quality at any time. Our process allows us to ensure particularly consistent infiltration and compaction.
Our CVI products can be further processed by machine, making possible special forms, surfaces or applications.
The aim of the CVI process is to achieve a high density and thus maximum stability. Due to our experience and expertise we are able to achieve maximum values in terms of density.
Adjustable parameters such as temperature, gas concentration and pressure allow us to adjust and optimise the texture of the infiltrated matrix carbon, in terms of its morphology and structure or density, during the CVI process.
Depending on the planned application, there are different requirements regarding the surface of the product - the aim is to achieve either a smooth or a porous surface. Since through the r-CVI process the compaction of the porous material takes place from the inside outwards, it is possible to create an open porosity on the surface. This helps with the mechanical keying of coatings or surfaces to allow bonding to the surface.
The compaction of the carbon felt with different carbon morphologies allows the friction coefficient of the matrix carbon to be specifically adjusted.
